The diplomatic tone over the Golan Heights has become worse in recent days, following an order signed by U.S. President Donald Trump proclaiming support over the illegal annexation of the territory by Israel. Syria has now told the UN they have no choice but to use force.
The territory in the South-West of Syria was occupied by Israeli forces during the war of 1967 and annexed during the final days of the conflict. The territory came under Israeli military control, leading native Arab inhabitants to flee the area. An armistice was signed in 1974 after the Syrian government tried to retake the territory. Although the Syrian Army could inflict heavy losses against their Israeli counterpart, the attack was thwarted. On December 17, 1981, the UN unanimously adopted resolution 497, which declared that Israel's Golan Heights law signed in the same year was "null and void without international legal effect."
However, the unilateral decision by the Trump administration has worsened the crisis in the region. While Trump's order is seen as a gift to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ahead of the elections in April, Lebanon has also taken security measures against Israel.
Israel illegally occupies Lebanese territories in the Shebaa farms, Ideise, Huneen, Kfarchouba and Blida since 1981. The move by the U.S. president rang alarm bells in the country, which declared it would be ready to defend its occupied territory against any such decisions.
During a meeting between Lebanese President Michel Aoun and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on March 26, Aoun announced that the decision by the U.S. "undermines all the foundations and rules of the UN, international law from the very foundation of this organization." The president also added that "of course, this is very disturbing and creates particular concern for those countries that are in close proximity to Israel."
The Russian Federation has also shown its support at the UN Security Council for Syria, and also reiterated its support for Lebanon with the Russian President calling it a "traditional, long-standing partner in the region of the Middle East and North Africa." Russia's mission at the UN stated that it stands in full support of Resolution 497 and does not recognize any Israeli claim over the territory.
Hal Turner Analysis
President Trump's decision to declare Israel has sovereignty over the Golan Heights was a terrible mistake.
Don't get me wrong: I love President Trump. I supported him before the 2016 election and I am overjoyed that he is President. I like the things he is doing while in office and I still support him. Yet this decision was a serious mistake.
Looking at the area, from the Golan Heights, one can see for miles into Israel. If Syria were to put missiles there, almost nowhere in Israel would be safe. The Israelis know this, which was the main reason they annexed the territory after the 1967 war.
Later, another reason cropped-up: Underground reserves of Oil and Natural gas. VAST underground reserves! Some estimate $6 TRILLION worth of such reserves! THAT was the driving force behind President Trump's decision.
And those reserves are the reason Syria will now go to war with Israel to reclaim the Golan Heights. Syria NEEDS that money from the oil and gas, to rebuild their war-torn country. Let's not forget too, WHO IT WAS that caused Syria to become a war-torn country: The US, its allies -- including Israel.
So for Syria, they now face not only having had to suffer a horrific internal war, the very people who orchestrated that war are now trying to walk away with $6 TRILLION in Syrian oil and gas. This is not going to be allowed by Syria - or its ally, Russia.
Russia wants to develop those oil and gas reserves. Russia can earn hefty profits from doing so . . . maybe enough profit to repay Russia for the men and materiel they expended defending Syria. Perhaps maybe more than that.
So Syria wants its oil and gas, and Russia has a keen interest in seeing that Syria gets it.
Enter President Trump's decision.
Let history record that this decision laid the specific groundwork for Armageddon.
Israel took land which was not theirs to take. Years later, the US approved of it. Syria will go to war to take it back.
Here's how it goes: Syrian Army Soldiers, hardened by battle over the past decade, WILL DEFEAT Israel. As that is taking place, Arabs in the West Bank will attack Israel, as will Hezbollah in Lebanon. Israel will find its ass being kicked, badly.
As Israel sees she is losing, the Israelis will go full retard and turn Damascus into "a ruinous heap" which, the Bible tells us, "will cease to be a city." (Isaiah 17:1) Israel WILL nuke Damascus.
The moment that takes place, the US will step-in to protect Israel because the entire world will be aghast at what has taken place. The US will know at that moment, Israel cannot hope to survive. By stepping-in, the US will think our presence may deter the world.
Russia, will not sit-by. Russia will attack; likely with a nuke against Israel, but DEFINITELY with ground troops into the Golan Heights.
Recall that Russia still has it's nose still out of joint over the downing of a Russian Intelligence Plane through Israeli shenanigans by hiding their attacking fighter jets behind that plane. Russia also has several slaps from Israel to repay, because Israel continues striking Syria despite being told to stop. So Russia has several chips on its shoulder; they have a score to settle with Israel.
Russia also has a score to settle with the USA. For over two years, Russia was WRONGLY blamed for "interfering in the 2016 Presidential election" for which the US Congress imposed economic sanctions WORSE than those imposed by the US on Japan before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Russia also sat back and watched as the US and EU overthrew the government of Ukraine and installed a puppet government for the explicit purpose of containing and economically harming Russia.
Russia will finally come to realize unless they strike against US actions right then and there, Russia will never be able to look themselves in the face as a nation state again. Russia WILL strike.
Once it begins, things will go wild weasel very fast. You'll see NATO enter on the side of the US. You'll see China enter on the side of Russia.
While this is popping-off, look for China to take Taiwan. Look for North Korea to move against South Korea.
Then look for India and Pakistan to go at each other.
How fast this may take place is not known. I won't even speculate. But in my view, it will take place.
And when it does, YOU had better already be prepared, because once it starts, it will happen so fast, there won't be any time to prepare.
Here are some suggested PREPS you should put on your list of things to do, and to get. Those who set out to get these things will have A CHANCE at surviving. Those who don't bother, won't have any chance at all.
We are living in a time in which prophecies from the Bible are actually taking place. Earthquakes in many places. Disease/pestilence resurgent around the world. Wars and rumors of wars. Christians being HATED for being Christians. The Book of Revelation is unfolding right before our eyes. Read it. Learn. Prepare. It is absolutely TERRIFYING what is to come.
