MAGNITUDE 9.0 QUAKE REPORTED IN ATLANTIC OCEAN OFF AFRICA COAST
5 Comments

A Magnitude 9.0 Earthquake has reportedly struck in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of West Africa. According to GlobalIncidentMap.com, they received the report via USGS feed . . . . But the USGS web site offers NO SUCH REPORT.

Type: EarthQuake
Magnitude: 9
DateTime: 2019-09-09 16:16:03
Region: 0.5
Depth: 0
Source: USGS Feed

The Depth of "0" in the report above is also strange.  A quake of that magnitude at the surface would (generally) generate a massive, ocean-wide Tsunami wave which would strike the east coasts of both North and South America.

Here is a link to the GlobalIncidentMap.com site and another link to the USGS Site.

This is a false report.. NEVER get your information from globalincidentmaps.com recently there was a "9.0" 2019km deep... this is the second time I've seen this intentional error.

I noticed there are volcanic islands off the African coast in that area. Perhaps the 0 depth can be explained if this massive quake occurred inside one of the volcanoes.

Where was the original report at so we can do some research? What were the coordinates?

EMSC too got no Report on it. Shock to see it(M9) on globalincidentmap.com after waking up. Current Events Updater must truly double, or better triple Checks on all sort of News. Critical Thinking is a MUST, there's a lot of fishy smell going on.
