Many Verizon customers along the eastern seaboard are unable to send text messages from their cell phones on Tuesday morning.
Verizon acknowledged the problem and says it’s working to fix it, though it doesn’t know when that will happen.
“We have confirmed there is a texting outage on the east coast" Verizon said in a message posted on Twitter. “Our technicians a fully aware we have a ton of customers that are being effected, and we’re working non-stop to get this matter resolved as soon as possible."
Verizon’s social media accounts have been flooded with complaints from customers complaining that text messages can’t be sent.
Verizon issued a statement at 10:15 a.m. that earlier texting problems had been resolved. “We experienced an issue impacting texting services for some customers this morning. Our engineers were able to identify and resolve the issue quickly,” Verizon said. "Service is now fully restored. "
